Deep thoughts

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.

Kids...

Kids are such funny creatures.

Lately I have been noticing some behavior problems. I have noticed that Zach is acting like me! Ugh, now there is a mirror I didn't want held up! He keeps trying to parent Jeremy, and his methods are not always flattering.

It's nothing too horrible, just a tone of voice, or the wording that he uses. It has really opened my eyes to how I parent, and how I want to parent. Changes are forthcoming.

I just need to start paying attention to what I say, and how I say it. It is amazing to me how they pick up things from us as parents. I have decided to be kinder (working on it), more patient (working on that too), not yell as much (gunna be hard), and listen to them more (ugh...do I have to). It's going to be good, and I think that we will all be happier.

They are such good kids, and I am lucky to be their mom!

The copying of tone of voice is where my kids always humble me, too. Especially when Connor says something like, "Are you KIDDING ME Beth?" Yikes. Sadly, I have said that one before. My poor, poor kids...
