Deep thoughts

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.

POOP!!!

Well, let me tell you about my day on Friday. I woke up to a beautiful sunny day. Case had been home sick on Thursday and was feeling better. The boys were all in a good mood, and all was right with the world. That should have been my first clue that something was coming.

I got in the shower knowing that in about an hour I needed to be at the vets for Shadow's vaccinations, and no one bothered me, except case to tell me he was leaving for work. It was bliss for a whole 3 minutes, then it happened...

"Mom, Jeremy stepped in poo!!" I hear as Zac rushes into the bathroom, followed shortly by a crying Jeremy who shoves his poop covered hands into the shower at me. "Jeremy let Shadow in the house and she pooped and then he stepped in it and it is all over the living room, and he even got it on the couch!!"

About then I started my mantra "I love being a mother, I love being a mother, I love being a mother, etc."

So I quickly rinse the soap out of my hair, get Jeremy cleaned up, and start investigating. Yep, it is EVERYWHERE!!! It is tracked from the back door, thorough the kitchen, into the living room, onto the couch (which are less than a year old), down the hall, and into the bathroom.

"I love being a mother...(anyone want a dog)...I love being a mother...(or perhaps a few kids)...I love being a mother...

My Bissell Little Green Machine is not going to even touch this problem, and the smell...well, it was BAD. I am at this point wet, naked, trying to keep the kids out of the poop and get the dog back outside, while trying not to step in any of the mess, and all I can do is laugh. I think I temporally lost my mind.

So I put the boys on my bed to watch TV, quickly dried off, got dressed, ran a brush through my hair, put it in a pony tail, and started cleaning. At this point I have 30 minutes to make it to my vet appointment.

It was a fun morning. I finally had to just stop and go to the vet, but I picked up a carpet cleaner on the way home and spent the rest of the day cleaning carpet. My carpet is so clean right now that, if you wanted to, you could lay down on it and roll around on it and lick it if you wanted to.

Oh, and the actually story came together when we were getting our shoes on to go to the vets. The poo was all over Zac's sandals. Yep, you guessed it...Zac had gone out side, stepped in poo, walked into the house leaving clumps of it everywhere, and Jeremy stepped in one of the clumps and continued to track it all over the house. The dog had done her job by pooping outside, it was just the one kid who had brought it inside. (Keeping the dog and the kids after all)

Well here are the general updates:

Case is about to have his Sporting Clays event for work. He is very excited.

Me, I'm doing great! My carpet is clean and I got a nap yesterday. Two very important things.

Zac is loving being out of school, and he just got to go to his first Cub Scout camp. He had the best time!

Jeremy is sick today, but growing like a weed. He loves to play outside and with Shadow.

Shadow is growing up. She is 5 1/2 lbs. now and likes to chew on everything, but, me and shoes especially. She goes for her first haircut tomorrow.

That's everyone, see you all later!
