Deep thoughts

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.

Sleep

Sleep, ahh, blissfull sleep. That is something I am definitely not getting enough of these days.

We took the Binky away from Jeremy, and ... I wanna give it back!! He is up at least 5 times a night now, and most of the time he wakes up Zac and then we have two kids up at 3am. Ugh!! Poor Case, he gets up with the boys most of the time and he has no idea how much I appreciate that!

You never realize how nice a full night sleep is until its gone. Right now, it is like having a new baby in the house. Thank heavens we don't have to feed or change him all night, just try to get him back to sleep.

I am blaming the lack of Binky for this. Dad says it is too late to give it back to him and I know he is right, but I want to sooooo- bad!

It was kind of nice with the Binky. All we had to do when, or if, he woke up at night was give it back to him and he would go back to sleep. Or he would find it himself and we wouldn't have to do anything. Now, we get up, get him a drink, a blanket if he has kicked it off, find his moose, sit by the bed, sometimes we have to rock him back to sleep, and then in a few hours we start it all again. After about 4 am I give up and just put him in bed with us and just put up with his little feet shoved into my lower back the rest of the night. After all that, he still wakes up at 6 or 6:30 am. Waaaaaaaaa!

Naps, ugh, there is another struggle I don't want to talk about. Today he didn't even take one, so neither did I. Ugh!

Well, missing today's nap wasn't entirely Jeremy's fault today. I was busy downstairs with a plumber trying to fix a drain for the billionth time. This guy was really good though, I think he actually fixed it. Yeah!! Every time we ran our washer the drain would overflow into the basement and water would run all over, or it would just fill the downstairs kitchen sink with dirty, soapy water.

Well, here was the problem. We have this pipe in our backyard sticking out of the ground, and we never knew what it was. Come to find out it was a direct access to the sewer drain for our house, and over the years it had filled with rocks, two kids sand shovels, a toy car, and lots and lots of sand and leaves. You guessed it, no one had ever put a cap on it. The opening is too small for a kid to fall down, but not to small for all that junk. It took the poor guy an hour and a half just to clear that out, and then another hour and a half to snake the drains all clean. Fun stuff, but hopefully it is all fixed now.

So, as you can all read, this week has been a bit of fun for us.

Mom and dad's house is still for sale. Dad is heading back for a week on June 10th and will stay for a week while they put new carpet in the basement, then will head back here.

Zac is done with school on Friday, and is looking forward to being able to stay up later, or at least until it gets dark. He HATES going to bed before it gets dark outside. I can remember hating that as a kid too.

Jeremy, as you all read above, is not a sleeper, but he is doing well in all other aspects. He is such a funny kid, and LOVES his grandpa. He has developed quite an imagination.

Case is working, and doing quite well. He is about to start a tiger cub pack in Zac's school so that Zac can be in boyscouts.

Shadow, the dog, is growing up, but still likes to mess in my house. She is learning "sit" and doing quite well. She barks at EVERYONE, and thinks she is a big dog.

I am doing good. I only work 2 days a week now, and I love being home with the boys more.

We are re-landscaping the backyard, and planting our garden right now, so anyone who has suggestions on how to grow strawberries, I am all ears. I just planted some.

Well, that is all for now. Check back again next week, and I will try to add some more for you all to read. I am still figuring out what to put on this silly thing and it will continue to evolve.

Later y'all!
